It’s gratifying to see that physical book stores can compete with Amazon and other on-line sources.  In Truckee, the bookstore that had been its community stalwart for many years closed a few years ago.  Then, a new one opened on the main street of downtown Truckee….and it’s thriving!  

Now the Town is well on its way with fund-raising efforts for a new modern and expanded regional Library…one that will serve the youth in our community not only for books but also as a safe space to gather as well as a cultural gathering space to meet friends and hold events for everyone.  Friends of the Truckee Library is the fundraising entity for this endeavor that so far has received financial support from over 300 individuals and businesses along with endorsements from more than 40 nonprofits and businesses.  For further information – www.truckeefol.org
