Last Saturday was the annual Fizz Fling at the Tahoe Yacht Club – Blessing of the Fleet.  Pastor Edward Hilton, Christ the King Lutheran Church, provided a lovely service with two readings and prayers for safety and good will, sprinkled with good humor and blessings for all.  Always a fun kick-off to summer boating.  Lilacs are blooming, temps are rising and summer weather is upon us.  Closed a nice escrow this week, sad only because old friends left the area for Scottsdale.  Now to look at this week’s activity.

Residential Real Estate – week 5/25 – 5/31

• Tahoe Sierra MLS – North/West Shores & Truckee.  New Listings – 29; Escrows – 31; Solds – 17
• Incline Village/Crystal Bay MLS.  New Listings – 9; Escrows – 8; Solds – 4
• East Shore, NV MLS.  New Listings – 4; Escrows – 7; Solds – 4
• Reno/Sparks MLS.  New Listings – 130; Escrows – 130; Solds – 106

Tahoe Sierra had a nice immediate escrow – a Chase lakefront listing for $8.2 Million in Brockway Springs that went to escrow just as it was coming on the market. East Shore activity picked up with 7 escrows.  Reno had an interesting escrow listed at $10 Million in the Washoe Valley.  This equestrian estate was built by the ‘Uranium King’, Charles Steen, in 1964 and was featured in Life Magazine.  Original construction had sterling silver bathroom fixtures with turquoise inlays and a sliding roof over the courtyard.  It’s had a few owners since then and has been on and off the market over the years.  I had the fun of visiting the property several times several years ago during one ownership.
