Many of us like to travel with our doggies, and this is reflected in the number of hotels and motels that now accept pets. The Lake Tahoe area is dog friendly, and most of the hotels and motels welcome our furry family members.Â
Accommodation prices vary, with
The Ritz-Carlton at Northstar the most expensive,
followed by the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village.Â
Some of the others are the Basecamp Hotel and
The Inn at the Boatworks in Tahoe City;
Quality Inn,
Coachman Hotel at South Lake Tahoe;
Inn at Truckee, and
Plump Jack Inn in Olympic Valley where Palisades Tahoe is located.Â
Some of the private rental homes allow dogs as well. Â
There are numerous outdoor dining spots for fido, especially in summer. Moody’s in Truckee has an outdoor area year-round, weather permitting.Â
Waterman’s Café on the Lake at Carnelian Bay is also dog friendly in winter. Â
There are also pet care companies for walking and sitting as well as boarding.Â
