Tahoe Update

Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:

What a week!  Nature arrived as predicted with some new snow, but added a couple of avalanches to the mix with one tragic death.  Wednesday’s big storm had more road havoc than accumulation, especially at the lower elevations.  The mountains got a decent amount, good for the resorts.  Still lots of grumbling about traffic and parking over the weekend.  Am a day late with my Update as have been flattened with some kind of flu….not covid or RSV…but enough to hug the bed for days, enjoying a slothful existence of mindful nonsense on Facebook, finishing one book and reading two more. Even with this distraction, we put a lot in escrow and got a cool condo on the market….thanks to Cheryl’s competent skills!  Let’s see what else happened in real estate.

Residential Real Estate – week 1/6 – 1/12

  • Tahoe Sierra MLS – North/West Shores & Truckee.  New Listings – 23; Escrows – 19; Solds – 14
  • Incline Village/Crystal Bay MLS.  New Listings – 8; Escrows – 6; Solds – 3
  • East Shore, NV MLS.   New Listings – 2; Escrows – 2; Solds – 4
  • Reno/Sparks MLS.  New Listings – 66; Escrows – 83; Solds – 64

Seems like the Reno area had bigger impact from the snow than Tahoe did!  It is not as equipped with snow removal as the mountains are, and I think they got at least as much, if not more, snow that the lower elevations did at Tahoe.

OK, I’m outta steam for today.  Looks like we’re in for some warmer weather, so rain at the lower elevations may upstage snow at the higher.  Let’s hope the higher ones have increased snowpack by the end of the week.  Have a good one and see you next time!

Best wishes,

Trinkie
