Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:
Just received my invitation to ‘Treat A Bear To Dinner and Dancing’, The Bear League’s 16th annual fund raiser. The invitation details the extensive menu of Appetizers, Soup and Salad, Entrees, Deserts and All You Can Drink Open Bar. This year the theme is Hawaiian Style with music by the Woodland Band (talented porcupine, two squirrels and a raccoon). Cost is $25 per bear, so you can treat one, a couple, a family or two or three! The other nice invitation received today was from Julie and Mike Teel who host Tahoe Forest Hospital’s two Foundation Boards (Incline and Tahoe/Truckee) for a Board Mixer at their Raley’s O.N.E. Loft. In addition to lovely drinks, the food is always fabulous, all prepared in-house by their talented chefs. So, now let’s see what fabulous things transpired in real estate this week.

- Fashionable Scaffolding. Louis Vuitton’s statement at the corner of East 57th St and Fifth Avenue in NYC is over the top! Its 15-story stack of six louis Vuitton trunks is covering the demo of an existing store to make way for Vuitton’s new flagship store. Six months to complete, the stack measures 108 feet deep by 70 feet wide and 230 feet tall and has garnered throngs of delighted tourists and New Yorkers alike to the sidewalks. WSJ Magazine
- New take on logos. Fashion has shifted from blatant logos to quiet branding that’s subtle but evident enough to subtly show label allegiances. However, not all fashion insiders are sold. Sarah Hoover, 39, an art historian and writer in New York, prefers ‘big flashy logos’ because they remind her of her 1990s youth. “I also like them because I’m tacky”, she said. “I’m here for a fun time, not a calm and elegant time.” WSJ
- Pathway to UK citizenship. Malta is the place! Golden Visas are available along with residency-by-investment. Not inexpensive, but an opportunity for deep-pocketed Americans and other nationals looking for EU residency. Mansion Global
