Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:
May already – hard to believe! A few more showers on the horizon but then into the 70s in another week. Time to unwrap the deck furniture. Property showings are picking up, and better weather will encourage more. For the first 4 months of this year vs. last, we are ahead by 8 sales (N/W Shores/Truckee MLS) and about $6,372,080 in dollar volume. Not a huge uptick but on the right track and too soon to forecast if this will hold for the year. On a sad note, we’ve lost several locals in the last few months, most recently Wayne Poulsen of the original visionary Squaw Valley family and Ken Weakley, a well-known electrical contractor and philanthropist of Truckee. The good news is that Tahoe Forest Hospital continues to birth new locals for our thriving community. Now to see where we are with real estate this last week.
Residential Real Estate – week 4/25 – 5/1
| Location | New Listings | Escrows | Solds |
| N/W Shores/Truckee MLS | 34 | 16 | 11 |
| Incline/Crystal Bay MLS | 15 | 7 | 4 |
| East Shore MLS | 4 | 7 | 4 |
| Reno/Sparks MLS | 135 | 142 | 141 |
Incline had two escrows in the $10 and $11M range, and Stillwater Cove has a new listing – end unit on the complex, totally rebuilt – at $10.995M – biggest number yet! Beach Club on the East Shore had a nice escrow listed at $5.475M and Chase had a lakefront sale at $5.8M representing buyer and seller. Reno’s action is busy, reflecting continuing migration to its personal tax-free state.
