Tahoe Update

Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:

Spring/winter, spring/winter.  Daffodils and blossoms have survived so far, but a blast of winter predicted this weekend may be the end of them.  Real estate perks along regardless, and I’m happy to report the closing of my 10th sale in Fleur du Lac and a beautiful new lakefront listing in Homewood.  A colleague has just listed a fabulous 1,530-acre trout fishing ranch outside Fall River Mills, CA that includes over a mile on Fall River and a custom Airstream fishing camp for $18.5M. For the California side of our Tahoe area, the highest priced listing is a West Shore lakefront at $45M followed by my three: a legacy estate at $30M, beautiful Olson-designed and built Homewood home at $26M, and a brand new build at $22M.  Now let’s see what everyone else is doing!

Local/Real Estate/Luxe

  • For local homeowners, Hemmings and Jarrett in the Cobblestone, Tahoe City is having a great warehouse sale of furniture.
  • Tahoe Fund’s contest for best project in the Basin crowned the Wildfire Alert Camera as winner.  It’s run by the University of Nevada and helps close a major gap in detection.  It received the $10K prize, thanks to generous donors.
  • The old Cal Neva is under total renovation, with confirmed financing package in place to bring this to fruition.
  • The Boatworks in Tahoe City may be in financial trouble, the owner so far defaulting on terms of a major loan.

This coming week I’ll be at the REALM Global Collective in Arizona, where about 200 of the top 1% of Realtors from across the country and beyond will gather for our annual meeting.  Great opportunity to catch up with colleagues and learn the latest impacting our respective luxury markets, from wellness to marketing and other resources benefitting the needs and wants of our clients.  Have a great week and see you next time!

Best wishes,
