Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:
Had a few days in Nashville for a small real estate conference with, of course, a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and a sight-seeing tour of the city’s famous spots. Hot and humid – not my kind of climate – but the meetings were great along with a good re-connect and meeting with old and new colleagues. It was held at the Graduate Hotel, a chain only in university towns, this one with a Dolly Parton theme and the most eclectic décor I’ve ever seen. The White Limozeen rooftop bar with outdoor pool was a mob scene! Nashville is the Bachelorette Capital of the world, and viewings of young women of all sizes in very short skirts and shorts with boots and hats – mostly in pink – did not disappoint. Food was outstanding at one of the best restaurants in town. Building there is in full force with something like 17 high rises currently under construction and a very ambitious arena about to be constructed to replace the existing one. Just happened to have lunch at Justin Aldean’s restaurant…timely with all the publicity he’s getting with his controversial new country song – “Try That in a Small Town.” So, let’s see what transpired in our small-town area this week.
- Residential Real Estate – week 7/15 – 7/21
- Tahoe Sierra MLS – North/West Shores & Truckee. New Listings – 53; Escrows – 31; Solds – 13

Lots more activity in most MLSs. A lakefront in Dollar Point that came on at $12.9 went to escrow in 2 days; Highest sale for the Tahoe Sierra MLS was $13M in Martis Camp. Incline/Crystal Bay activity really perked up with new listings and escrows, 12 of the 16 escrows were homes. Highest condo sale was $5.5 in Stillwater Cove, a 4 BR, 5BA updated unit. East shore had a nice Chase lakefront sale at $9.8M. And, South Reno had a new $12M listing – a 17-acre compound.

- Little Larry attended a horse auction with his father. He watched as his father moved from horse to horse, running his hands up and down the horse’s legs and rump and chest. After a few minutes, Larry asked, “Dad, why are you doing that?” His father replied, “Because when I’m buying horses, I have to make sure that they are healthy and in good shape.” Larry, looking worried, said, “Dad, I think the UPS guy wants to buy Mom.”

Best wishes,
