Sierra Community House | Feed the Flock: A Fundraiser to Fight Hunger

Join the most colorful movement in Tahoe-Truckee this Hunger Relief Month! Help fight hunger and spread joy—one flock of flamingos at a time.

A Fun Way to Support a Great Cause

You may notice a sudden invasion of bright pink flamingos in Truckee! Don’t worry — it’s all part of our lighthearted fundraiser!

For a few weeks a “flock” of flamingos will mysteriously appear on someone’s lawn across North Tahoe/Truckee.

To have them removed — or to send them on to another unsuspecting friend–we need contributions to not only “feed” these hungry flamingos–but also nourish our neighbors!

Why It Matters

  • Every dollar supports hunger relief through Sierra Community House.
  • This fundraiser isn’t just about silly flamingos — it’s about raising money and awareness for Sierra Community House’s Hunger Relief Program.
  • Every dollar helps us provide over 300,000 meals to over 3,000 families annually.
  • Your playful gift helps provide meals, groceries, and dignity to our neighbors in need—especially during the busy holiday season.

Thank you for helping your neighbor get the flock off their lawn—while also putting nutritious food on the tables of families in our community!

With a $100+ donation, you can “adopt a flamingo” for your lawn—your very own keepsake to show your support for ending hunger in our community once the campaign wraps up. We will deliver it to you in October!
