Tahoe Update - August 2nd

Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:
Off into August and some of the final summer activities. The fabulous wooden boat show at Obexers on the West Shore is next Friday and Saturday. The League to Save Lake Tahoe’s Oscar fashion show/lunch was yesterday, August 1…major fundraiser for Keep Tahoe Blue. And this coming Thursday, Aug 6, will be last Truckee Thursdays. Music in the Park, Truckee, has 4 more Wednesdays, ending August 26. Trails and Vistas’ Art Hikes – now sold out - will take place August 22 & 23.
Savoie! Finally had a great time seeing the new incarnation of this restaurant, and what a treat! Beautiful renovation and addition to the North Shore community. We didn’t have a res, so got seats at the bar for drinks and nibbles…best French Fries ever along with delicious pâté. Had a nice visit with owner and chef, Mark Sullivan, and was delighted to see Peter, who has been a waiter in our area for years, first at Moody’s, then The Lodge at Tahoe Donner. The place was humming and it was just after 5PM. Now let’s see what happened this last week in real estate.

State of the Lake – 2025: Winter months show more clarity, summer less. Part of reason is the silt that comes from the Upper Truckee River, genesis the Truckee River Marsh South. Barton Hospital has given a matching fund up to $25,000 towards mitigating efforts to clean this up. Info: https://tinyurl.com/95hmvpr9

A bottle of water can cost $1 at the grocery store, $3 at a restaurant, $4 at the movies and $6 at the airport. The bottle of water didn’t change. What changed was its location. So the next time you feel that you have no value, maybe you’re just in the wrong place. Mother of Heathens
