Tahoe Update October 11th

 Greetings Fellow Life Travelers:

That time!  After our nice long stretch of Indian Summer, looks like temps are changing this next week.  There’s still lots of color left, but wind events are starting to strip the trees.  No snow predicted but 30 degree nights are coming up and cooler days.  Time to undo the decks and retire sandals. New observation – the tragic end to dinner parties.  Just read an  article on this and one on the huge reduction in socialization in general, a result not only of pandemic isolation but the advent of home entertainment, home food delivery and internet for starters.  Civilizations and communities rely on social interchange for survival, so this is not a good situation or prediction especially for young people going forward.  Isolation  is part of the issue we’re seeing in some of the tragic incidents in our country. Now on to real estate.

Tahoe Sierra had a North Shore lakefront come on at $7.9M – rerun from last year, and a Chase North Shore lakefront listing at $6.995M go to escrow – for the second time.  Out of the Tahoe Sierra 22 closings, 6 closed at asking price or higher.  For Incline/Crystal Bay, 4 of the 5 single-family solds were at asking price.  In Reno, Chase’s beautiful $6.2M riverfront estate listing went to escrow.
